A 49-year-old woman has been arrested yesterday at Block A for possession of dagga. This comes after two women in blue uniform, Constable Mpilo Mavuso and Constable Weggy Sambo were performing routine stop and search duties around the area when they received a tip-off from a passerby about a woman who was selling dagga.
Police then acted swiftly on the information and searched at the woman’s place of residence. A bucket full of dagga with a street value of R1 500 was been found and the suspect was arrested.
The station commander of Tonga, Brigadier Velisiwe Mdaka is discouraging the selling and use of dagga as it is a contributing factor to crime.
