Afropunk Music Festival Scheduled To Hold In Brooklyn
TV Personality, Singer, Actress and Model, Nandi Madida will make history this August as she becomes the first African to host the Afropunk Brooklyn Music Festival in New York, USA.
The Afropunk Festival (commonly referred to as Afropunk or Afropunk Fest ) is an annual arts festival that celebrates and unifies the cultural cornerstones of AFROPUNK through music, film, skate, and art.
The excited Nandi Madida took to social media channels to announce the news. She posted on Instagram:
“I am both ecstatic and honored to announce that I will be making History as the FIRST AFRICAN to host at Afropunk Brooklyn in New York City 26&27 August 2017 🇺🇸. Dreams really do come true.. #AfricanQueen 👑 “they tried to bury us but they didn’t know we were seeds..”
The line-up for the festival includes top performers from across the world including Solange Knowles, Raphael Saadiq, Willow Smith, Jorja Smith, Dizzie Rascal, Sango, SZA, Macy Gray and many more.
AfroPunk Festival is also expected to expand to Johannesburg at the end of the year and it promises to bring exciting acts as well including Solange Knowles, Laura Mvula, Anderson Paak and others.
